Run Santa Run 5k 2026

Run Santa Run 5K sends hundreds of Santas, elves, and polar bears through downtown Madison for an untimed 5K run or walk during the Christmas season. Instead of chasing a clock, participants choose a character before race day and receive a shirt, hat, and accessories to complete the costume. The route is built around holiday fun rather than serious racing, with interactive aid stations and a Grinch chase folded into the course. The first 25 runners to beat the Grinch earn a free slice of Ian’s Pizza, Santa makes a special visit, and the day ends at the North Pole Post-Race Party. Seasoned runners can join, but the setup also fits families, friend groups, walkers, and anyone who wants the costume part as much as the 5K.
