Spirit of Syllamo 2026

The Spirit of Syllamo features two ultra endurance trail races within the Sylamore Ranger District of the Ozark St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas. The series offers 100 mile and 38 mile distances, with staffed aid stations and drop bag support for participants undertaking a long day or more in the forest. The 100 mile route incorporates 31 miles of the Ozark Highlands Trail and sections of the North Sylamore Creek Trail. The 38 mile race covers approximately 18 miles of the Ozark Highlands Trail. The terrain is rugged, rocky, steep, and densely wooded, with elevation gain typically around 175 feet per mile. Participants will encounter numerous creek crossings; most can be navigated without getting wet, though rainfall may increase water levels at three larger crossings on the 100 miler and one on the 38 miler.
