À propos de cette course
The Storybook Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile trail race in Roosevelt Forest, Stratford, Connecticut, featuring a storybook-character costume theme. It is designed for adults seeking a manageable trail challenge; racers, runners, joggers, hikers, and walkers are welcome, with a four-hour time limit for completion. The event serves as an introduction to trail running, though some trail experience is beneficial because of the natural forest terrain.
The course consists of an 8-lap loop, each 1.64 miles, crossing marked singletrack and doubletrack trails within Roosevelt Forest. Participants will encounter roots, rocks, and moderate hills on the 401-acre wooded park's paths, guided by signs and arrows. Aid stations will offer hydration and snacks in an ultra-style setup. Finishers will receive a medal, and awards will be presented to the top five male and female finishers. Costumes are encouraged, and proceeds benefit local Stratford organizations such as the Roosevelt Forest Commission, Veteran's Museum, and Stratford Library. This is the race's second running.
