The Sunshine Open Water Swim Series is a small spring swim series on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It includes a stop at Pass-a-Grill Beach in Saint Petersburg and another at Indian Rocks Beach. The Pass-a-Grill event offers swimmers several distance choices: 5K, 1.9K, 3.2K, and a 10K for those seeking a longer open-water challenge. The 10K is composed of 2.5K loops. Starts are staggered by distance, with the 10K swimmers going first, followed by the 5K, 1.2-mile, and half-mile groups. Entry is limited to approximately 150 to 200 swimmers, making it a close-knit beach swim rather than a large race production.
