À propos de cette course
UltraTrax Gore Mountain is a single-day endurance walk at Gore Mountain in North Creek, New York, held in July. Participants choose one, two, three, or four laps of a seven-mile loop, offering distance options of 7, 14, 21, or 28 miles. Everyone has ten hours to finish their chosen distance for event recognition, making the day suitable for walkers, hikers, and ruckers seeking a measured mountain challenge distinct from a traditional trail run.
The loop follows Roaring Brook through mixed hardwood and spruce forest, featuring creekside paths, rocky brook crossings, rooty woods, forest climbs, open ski trails, ridge roads, and valley views. Each lap gains 1,785 feet before descending from the ridge onto open slopes and returning to the base area. The route is almost entirely shaded, trails are marked, volunteers staff key intersections, and aid stations are positioned approximately every 2.5 to 3 miles with water, electrolytes, snacks, and toilets. Finishers receive a shirt and commemorative patch, three- and four-loop finishers can earn a Grey Wolf medal, ruckers with a vest receive additional swag, and a portion of registration fees supports the Conservation Lands Foundation.
