Hudson Gardens Event Center serves as the start and finish for the 16th Annual Western Welcome Week Pancake Stampede 5K Fun Run & Walk. The course follows the Mary Carter Greenway alongside the South Platte River. The event offers a relaxed community atmosphere, distinct from a highly competitive race, yet it is chip timed and provides awards for top male and female finishers in overall and age/gender categories. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome, and strollers are permitted.
The appeal is straightforward: run the race and then enjoy pancakes. Registration provides a ticket to the Western Welcome Week Family Pancake Breakfast, held at Geneva Park Upper level between the City Center and Geneva Lodge. The breakfast features pancakes, sausage, juice, and DIRT coffee. Children can participate in post-run activities, including free games and the Bruce Wolf Stick Horse Stampede.
