À propos de cette course
The Yeti Ultra 24 Hour Challenge is a virtual ultra run based on a single rule: complete 5.2 miles every four hours for a 24-hour period. Six runs total 31 miles, the standard 50K distance, offering an ultramarathon total without requiring a single continuous effort. It operates on the honor code, with the year-end deadline allowing participants to select their own start time and attempt again if an initial effort is unsuccessful.
There is no set course; the route can be any path the runner can safely navigate. One participant's recap mentioned a mall parking lot, Carlsbad beaches, and the Oceanside harbor area within the same attempt. Jason of Yeti Trail Runners revived the challenge. The format is intentionally lenient, permitting repeat attempts to avoid a DNF. The event also supports fundraising for The Trevor Project, a nonprofit offering suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ youth.
