The Saualmlauf is an 11.7 km mountain race in Carinthia, Austria, from Eberstein up toward the Steinerhütte on the Saualpe. Organized by Laufclub Althofen, it concludes the local running season. Participants begin at the Kulturhaus Eberstein, with the route ascending 1,030 meters, marking it as a short, steep challenge rather than a flat road race.
The course crosses Eberstein and St. Oswald before concluding at the Steinerhütte, opening up a section of the Saualpe instead of returning to town. Both running and Nordic Walking categories are offered, with poles mandatory for Nordic Walkers. The event features male and female classifications, an average-time competition, clothing transport to the finish, race-day bib pickup at the start, an awards ceremony, and a prize draw. It is scheduled to proceed regardless of weather conditions.
