Walzberglauf is an annual mountain run in Texingtal, in Austria's Melk district, centered on a direct test up the Walzberg. The race is short at 8.15 km, but climbs 700 meters, making it more of an uphill fight than a relaxed local road run.
The event typically draws over 50 starters, with experienced mountain runners and ambitious locals sharing the same climb. Sektion Melk organizes the race with help from Ortsgruppe Texing, and the event has reached its 20th edition. The course record is 38:19, set by Christian Steinhammer, providing faster runners a clear mark to chase while others measure the day by surviving the climb and the views over Texingtal.
