From the World Heritage-listed rainforest of Kuranda, this staged trail race is built for runners who know how a marathon feels on tired legs. 3 Marathons in 3 Days links Kuranda, Cedar Park, Copperlode Dam, Koah, and Cairns across its sixth year, drawing ultra-runners and marathon collectors who understand the point is not just finishing once.
The first two days feature challenging trails and dirt roads, including Snake Gully's technical sections and Vivier's Track with overgrown single tracks, fallen trees, and creek crossings. The final Cairns Marathon shifts from Koah along Lake Morris Road toward the finish at Goomboora Park, mostly on footpaths, moving from dense rainforest to sealed roads with elevation, Far North Queensland's unique wildlife, and minimal course signage requiring GPS navigation skills. A portion of entry fees goes to a local charity.
