Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest

From the Foreshore and Coral Sea Marina, this trail day quickly heads toward the "lush and tropical Conway Circuit National Park," rather than focusing only on the beach. The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest reaches its 20th year in 2026, with origins in Mackay Road Runners' first trail event in 2005 and a decade managed by the Whitsunday Running Club. Expect a varied surface: fire trail for steady running, then narrow walking track requiring focus. Some runners begin at the race precinct, others are transported to Brandy Creek, and all return toward the Foreshore finish, with adults, teens, and kids each having their own start. Local, runner-created traditions include a Mascot Race, the "Bendigo Community Bank KIDS BEACH BASH RACE BRIEFING," and the standard event shirt and finishers medal.
