Coombabah Trail Run

Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area is the anchor, with the run based off Lakelands Rd within wetlands connected to the internationally significant Southern Moreton Bay Marine Park and the Ramsar Convention. The Coombabah Trail Run presents as a low-key trail morning with an AUTRA characteristic: “FOSTERING AND PROMOTING THE SPORT OF ULTRA & TRAIL RUNNING,” while maintaining a modest, not flashy, presence. The main point for runners is that the organisers aim to “keep the experience as pristine as possible,” so they “limit the entries” and “keep the numbers as small and personal as possible.” A unique addition is a trail-runner prize draw across the three yearly events: from 2026, one entrant will be sent to the IPapatowai Challenge in Otago, New Zealand, with entry and weekend accommodation covered, and sponsors are being sought to assist with travel expenses.
