Semaphore South anchors the event, with sealed coastal paths alongside Gulf St Vincent offering views that speak for themselves. The LeFevre Coastal Running Festival marks its 11th year, part of a low-cost, low-key coastal running series focused on "running with purpose," with a portion of proceeds donated to charity. It offers the atmosphere of a local race morning, being practical, friendly, and situated close to the water.
The courses are flat and fast, utilizing "scenic coastal paths" that pass coastal reserves, "historic jetties," and Adelaide's popular beachfront. These paths provide some shelter in sections, useful when the wind picks up. The event attracts a diverse group: casual walkers, those attempting their first distance race, competitive runners aiming for personal bests, experienced runners, joggers, and ultra-distance participants. A unique element is the "RUN PINK" theme, returning again this year, with a trophy awarded to the participant who best embodies it.
