The Mike Carney Toyota Paluma Push is a cross-country mountain bike race in North Queensland. It takes riders from rainforest country toward the outback. The race occurs on the third weekend of July annually, offering three course options. It balances a demanding solo challenge with a communal ride for the local mountain bike community. Riders begin in Paluma Village, navigating tracks through World Heritage Rainforest, passing Paluma Dam, and entering large timbered areas before emerging into open cattle country. The finish line is at Hidden Valley, a settlement with a history of tin mining. The event commenced in 2002. The weekend includes camping at the Cricket Oval, live music, food trucks, a bonfire, and post-race refreshments.
