May Drive Parkland hosts this event, featuring grass and sandy terrain instead of typical road surfaces. The Wally Cairns Pancake Run is a cross-country event organized by the West Australian Marathon Club, described as “Western Australia's largest running club.” While organized by the club, it welcomes all runners, not exclusively club members.
The course consists of laps through “scenic cross-country courses,” with participants able to complete one, two, or three laps based on their desired distance. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed local club event, with a blend of regular runners and casual participants. A distinctive feature is the pancake run held at the event's conclusion.
