Meia Maratona do Mercado Público

The Meia Maratona do Mercado Público route takes runners through Porto Alegre’s Mercado Público, the city’s most recognized market, as part of a road race centered in the Historic Center. The event provides 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km distances. The half marathon begins at 6:10 AM, with the 5 km and 10 km races starting at 7:00 AM. The race originated for the Mercado Público’s 156th anniversary and is managed by Ticket Sports alongside CORPA, the Clube dos Corredores de Porto Alegre. A past edition saw 3,811 registered participants from 18 Brazilian states. In that edition, the half marathon winners completed the course in 1:18:59 and 1:07:33. Registration is limited to 5,000 participants, and runner kits contain a shirt and gymsack.
