The Freiberger Adventslauf is a street running series held during Advent in Freiberg, Saxony. It starts at Sporthalle Rülein-von-Calw on Meißner Ring. The races typically begin at 4:30 PM, placing them in the late-afternoon winter schedule rather than a standard morning road-race time. The program includes 12 km, 6 km, 3 km, and a 0.4 km option, featuring children’s and school races, Nordic walking, and a relay alongside the main runs. The event has taken place annually since 1992 and is organized by Hetzdorfer SV 1990. Its structure emphasizes a local community race day over a single main event. Families can participate in the short youth races, walkers have a dedicated discipline, and teams can join the relay. Results are managed by Berlin-Timing, with live results available if the venue has internet access, and downloadable certificates linked to start numbers.
