Aiako Mendi Duatloia is a sprint mountain duathlon in Aia, Gipuzkoa, in Spain’s Basque Country, with an afternoon start at 15:30 in late October. It is a compact race but not a gentle one: competitors run 6.21 km on mountain terrain and then ride 13.2 km by mountain bike. The event is also part of the EHKO Txapelketa, the Basque Championship, so it sits inside the regional mountain duathlon scene rather than being only a local village race.
The run section gains 275 m, and the bike section adds another 642 m, so the climbing is the main story despite the short distances. The race starts and finishes in Aia, and entries are offered both for individuals and relay teams. Aiako Udala is the main organizer, with management linked to Lokatzetan. Practical race-day details are straightforward: timing chips are provided, showers and bag drop are available, and on-site registration can open if the participant cap has not been reached.
