Carrera Nocturna La Rinconada is an 8 km night race in San José de la Rinconada, near Seville, with a late-evening start that usually puts runners on the streets around 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. The race began as part of Mobility Week, so its name is literal: it links a town road race with a push for cleaner, less car-dependent ways of getting around. It is organized locally by the town sports authorities and keeps a simple, accessible format, with low-cost entry in recent editions and several hundred runners signed up in past races.
The route is an urban circuit through the main streets and avenues of La Rinconada, with start and finish areas listed in different editions around El Majuelo park or Plaza de España. Runners get the usual practical support: bib control before the start, timing, cloakroom, medical assistance, liquid refreshment during the race and at the finish, plus a runner's bag. Trophies go to the top three finishers in each category and sex, but the field is broad enough for club runners, local athletes, and people drawn by the unusual feel of racing through town at night.
