Oviedo’s Media Maratón Verde is a 21.1 km half marathon with a field capped at 600 runners. It starts at the Palacio de los Deportes and finishes on Calle Uría, placing the race within the city.
The field has grown quickly, with entries more than doubling from the previous edition and the race reaching its registration limit. It also draws runners from outside Spain: 77 foreign athletes were listed among the participants, including Argentinians who came to Asturias for the race and stayed on for a longer visit. The event is tied to Oviedo’s designation as a European City of Sport, and locally it is one of the races on the city’s runner calendar that people plan around.
