Wildmarathon Arctique de Finlande

The Wildmarathon Arctique de Finlande is a snowy trail-running event based in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland. The race begins at Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle. This is a four-day adventure, not just a weekend event, offering 10 km, 21 km, and marathon distances. Participants should anticipate genuine Arctic cold, with temperatures typically between -12 and -7°C. The course features minimal elevation gain. The route combines sections through semi-urban areas with conifer forests and views of the Taiga. Some snowy paths are partially maintained by reindeer. The trip can also incorporate northern lights excursions, snowmobile safaris, dog sledding, and access to heated pools and spas. Consequently, many runners view it as a Lapland travel experience centered on a race. The Wildmarathon organization also hosts events in locations including Nepal, Morocco, Mexico, Tanzania, and Peru.
