Course "La Mère Denis" 2026

Course La Mère Denis is a summer trail-running event in Barneville-Carteret, on Normandy’s Manche coast. Runners choose from three trail distances: 6 km, 12 km, and 22 km, with a 10 km walk also on the program. The 22 km race carries the La Mère Denis name and belongs to the Challenge Cotentin Trail, while the 12 km route is called Les Lavandières. The routes use the Cap de Carteret area, with the coastline, cliffs above the English Channel, and open sea views forming the main setting. The event is organized by Courir Ensemble en Côte des Isles, a local association created in 2008 by walkers and runners who met on the Côte des Isles paths. The club brings together beginners and experienced athletes, trains several times a week, and turns its own race day into a local gathering that has drawn more than 300 participants in a previous edition.
