The Course Nature de la Colline de Vitrolles is a running event held in late October in Vitrolles, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of southern France. Organized by Vitrolles Triathlon in collaboration with local health partners, the event offers participants four distinct race options. These include short park races of 1 km and 5 km, alongside longer nature runs through the hills surrounding Vitrolles, typically measuring around 11-12 km and 20 km. The longer distances are trail runs, while the 1 km and 5 km races are designed to be accessible to novice runners, families, and individuals seeking a shorter running experience.
The 1 km course consists of a single loop within Parc du Griffon, and the 5 km course comprises two loops in the same park, with aid stations available at the finish for both. The hill routes venture onto forest and nature trails. The 12 km course features 137 m of elevation gain, while the 20 km course includes 239 m of climbing and several aid stations along its path. The event attracts trail running enthusiasts, with over 100 participants in the previous editions of the longer races. Complementing the races, partner stands contribute to a local fair atmosphere, featuring a paella food stand. Additionally, a health village, staffed by healthcare professionals, is available for both runners and spectators.
