La Castraise is a non-timed road cycling cyclosportive held in Castres, Tarn, Occitanie, southern France. It takes place in October, offering riders several route options for a long day on the bike. Distances typically range from around 70 km, 98 km, and 128 km, with newer variations of 75 km, 100 km, and 130 km available depending on the specific edition.
The routes combine riding within Castres with extended sections through the surrounding Tarn countryside. The newer courses incorporate significant climbing: approximately 1,100 m for the 75 km route, 1,800 m for the 100 km, and 2,300 m for the 130 km. The event also features a 50 km non-timed hike, catering to participants beyond cyclists seeking a challenging sportive distance. La Castraise has been organized for over 20 years, with its small, medium, and grand circuits appealing to local participants, regular club cyclists, and individuals desiring a lengthy, untimed autumn ride.
