Les Foulées des Bords de Loire begins and ends at the La Minais sports hall in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire, located east of Nantes in France’s Loire-Atlantique department. This running and walking event, held in mid-June, is organized by the Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire branch of Racing Club Nantais. It features a 5.5 km race, a 12 km race, an 11 km Nordic walk, and 1 km children’s races. The main races commence close together in the morning, with separate boys’ and girls’ children’s runs taking place afterward.
The courses combine road segments and trails, guiding participants toward the Loire River banks along predominantly flat, nature-focused routes. The event welcomes both FFA-licensed runners and unlicensed participants, accommodating club athletes, local runners, walkers, and families within the same program. Approximately 660 individuals participated in a recent edition, supported by around 110 volunteers. Each race bib contributes to a solidarity initiative with Sainte-Luce solidaire, a local social grocery addressing food insecurity, and electronic chips provide timing.
