Les relais de Léonard is a three-hour team relay on Île-d’Or in Amboise, organized by Avenir Amboise Athlétisme. Teams of two to five runners aim to complete as many laps as possible on a 1.5 km grass loop; the softer surface was chosen to be easier on their legs.
The race continues into the evening, so runners finish by headlamp instead of stadium lights. In its second edition, twenty-three teams competed. The winners, Team GTB, completed thirty-two laps for 48 km, and TC Joué finished on the same lap for second place. The event is intended for long-distance runners, although the club president mentioned that the busy French Athletics Federation calendar presents challenges for smaller races.
