Noz Caval'cade sends runners into the dark for a 15 km trail race in Brest, Finistere, Brittany. The race takes place around mid-December, starting from the Complexe Sportif de la Cavale-Blanche, and requires a headlamp for all participants. Runners may complete the single-loop course individually or as a two-person relay, with the handover point at Fort du Questel. The event also features children's and junior races, La Course de Yetis, and a Cani-trail discovery race.
The route traces the banks of the Penfeld river and includes a unique Brest feature: a passage through the underground areas and moats of Fort du Questel. Food and drink are available inside a room at the fort, with an additional, larger aid station at the finish. Chip timing is provided, and pre-registration is affordably priced. The previous edition attracted over 300 participants, creating a local night trail atmosphere with sufficient energy without becoming an overly large city race.
