Saint Bar'trail is an annual trail-running event in Saint-Barthélemy, a village in Haute-Saône in France’s Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. It is usually held in early July and offers three distances: the 11 km Trail du Petit Mont De Vannes, the 20 km Trail du Grand Mont De Vannes, and the 40 km Le Belfahy. The race is organized by the Saint-Bar’trail association with help from the local municipality and local sponsors.
The courses send runners onto fields, forest paths, and the varied plateau around Saint-Barthélemy. The 20 km route includes 950 meters of climbing, while the 40 km race adds a descent, a second climb to the Ancienne Abbaye du Mont de Vannes, a refreshment stop there, and views toward the Haut-Saône summits. The event draws hundreds of runners from across France and abroad, with a mix of newer trail runners on the short course and experienced runners using Le Belfahy as the day’s main test.
