The Trail Alsace Grand Est by UTMB 47 km is a technical trail race in Alsace, eastern France, with a wild feel rather than a smooth road-race rhythm. Its identity is shaped by old stone, forested climbs, and local food culture: runners ascend the pagan wall of Mont Sainte-Odile in a Celtic-tinged atmosphere, then finish at one of the region's great castles.
The route covers 47 km, passing Lac Blanc, the Tour du Faudé, Brézouard, and Aubure before concluding at the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. It demands strong legs and concentration on rough terrain, with a recovery that is very Alsatian: local white wines and choucroute after the effort.
