Trail du Buis is a trail-running event in La Buisse, in Isere, with races for runners who want steep ground rather than a flat road day. The main distance is the 21 km trail, which starts and finishes at the salle polyvalente and climbs roughly 1000 metres, with a long pull up to Grand Ratz before the route moves onto singletrack, forest roads, country lanes, and technical paths. The event also includes a 10 km trail, an 8.7 km Nordic walk, and a newer 30 km race linked to the seven-event Pays voironnais Trail Series.
The 21 km race is the historic distance and the most popular option, drawing more than 200 runners in a recent edition, while the whole Trail du Buis has brought together more than 700 participants. Runners on the 21 km route pass aid stations at Grand Ratz and Sentier du Ventelon, and the race can be done as a duo, with partners required to start together, pass every control together, and cross the finish line together. The 10 km route climbs about 400 metres, the Nordic walk climbs about 310 metres, and the finish area keeps the local feel with refreshments after the race.
