Vet'o Trail

The Vet'o Trail races are named after dogs: the 6 km Chihuahua, the 12 km Border Collie, and the 25 km Saint Bernard. This trail-running event takes place in May in Marcy-l'Étoile, Rhône, near Lyon, with routes in the Monts du Lyonnais area of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The format offers three off-road distances, providing options for a first trail run or a challenging morning on hilly terrain. The shortest course involves approximately 100 m of elevation gain, the Border Collie reaches about 300 m, and the Saint Bernard ascends to around 600 m, with difficulty increasing with distance. The paths utilize natural terrain, featuring technical sections, climbs, and descents instead of flat road running. Students from the veterinary school organize the event, accounting for the dog-themed race names and giving the series a distinct character beyond standard distance designations.
