The Brixen Dolomiten Marathon begins in Brixen Cathedral Square (560m) and ascends to Plose (2,450m). This is a 42.195-kilometer mountain marathon with 2,450 meters of positive elevation gain and an 8-hour time limit. Established in 2010, the event offers 4x4 and 2x2 relay options for splitting the climb.
The course departs the town center via asphalt, trails, and forest roads, initially ascending towards St. Andrä. It continues through woods and meadows to Afers, then rises further via Rossalm and Kreuztal before reaching the path to Malga Buoi. The most challenging section is near the finish: the final 3.2 kilometers add 400 meters of elevation before the Plose summit, providing a panoramic view of the mountains and valley.
