La Scarpa della Val Trebbia is a trail race held in Bobbio, Italy. Its main long course covers 37.2 km with 2,320 meters of elevation gain. Also known as SVT - Trail La Scarpa della Val Trebbia, the event offers a shorter 18K race in addition to the 37K distance.
The long race is a challenging uphill day, not a flat speed competition. Winning times are typically under four hours. The field is small, with results lists showing dozens of runners rather than thousands. Finishers are categorized by age, professional timing is provided, and separate halls of fame are maintained for the 18K and 37K races.
