Mizukami Mountain Party is a trail running race held in Mizukami Village, Kumamoto Prefecture. The venue is the former Yuyama Elementary School in Yuyama. It takes place in early June, with registration open from winter through spring. Runners can choose from three distances: a Mini course of approximately 5 km with no time limit, a Short course of about 25 km, and a Long course of roughly 53 km.
The more challenging courses are demanding mountain runs. The Short route involves around 2,000 m of climbing and has an 8-hour time limit. The Long route requires approximately 4,000 m of ascent and has a 12-hour limit. The event attracts participants from all over Japan annually, with the village's hospitality considered a primary draw. The Mini course, priced lower than the longer races, offers a student discount for elementary, junior high, and high school participants, welcoming local and younger runners alongside seasoned trail runners.
