The Oosterscheldeloop is an annual road race held in Kattendijke, a small village in Zeeland situated near the Oosterschelde. The start and finish lines are located in the village center. Participants can choose from a 4.1 km, 7.4 km, or 15 km race, in addition to two 800 m races designated for children. The short race is intended for less experienced runners, the middle distance is suitable for strong recreational runners, and the 15 km is for experienced runners and athletes.
The course leads from Kattendijke towards De Oosterschelde National Park and follows the water's edge. Long-distance runners complete the middle-distance course twice, effectively running a double lap instead of a distinct long loop. AV'56, the athletics club based in Goes and affiliated with the Atletiekunie, organizes the event. The participant limit is set at 500, and the adult races accommodate a broad age range, from 14 to 94 years old.
