The Sea Fresh Wintercross Urk is a short winter cross-country race held on Urk. The race starts at 11:00, with registration available on the day of the event from 10:30 at the start area. It is designed for beginner runners and children, featuring a straightforward format: complete the distance you prefer, pay a modest entry fee, and sample off-road racing without the commitment of a lengthy course.
The course consists of a 1,250-meter loop on an unpaved, primarily gravel path. Participants can complete up to four laps for a 5-kilometer race, though shorter distances are permitted, making it suitable for novices or younger participants. The gravel surface provides manageable footing, and the undulating terrain offers sufficient challenge for a genuine cross-country experience. It also serves as a practical preparation for longer local races, such as the 12 Villages Run in April.
