Veluwepoortloop

The Veluwepoortloop begins and ends at the AVN sports complex on Hassemanpad in Nijkerk, with participants assembling next to Oekraïnepark. Organized by Atletiek Vereniging Nijkerk, it features short road-race distances of 2, 5, and 10 kilometers, suitable for children, new runners, club athletes, and those seeking a quick local competition. The event holds spring and autumn editions; the autumn races concentrate on the 5 and 10 kilometer distances. The course winds through Nijkerk's green outskirts, primarily on asphalt, crossing woodlands and farms instead of urban roads. Over 200 participants have attended the autumn edition from various parts of the Netherlands, broadening the race's scope beyond a local club event. AVN also used the occasion to unveil its new club attire, with members competing in the updated gear. Results are available on hardloopuitslagen.nl, and event photography documented the competition and participants along the route.
