Voorne-Putten classics

The Voorne-Putten classics centre on the Rockanje Classic Races, an annual classic motorcycle meeting held on the beach at Rockanje in South Holland. Riders compete on a dune circuit instead of a conventional road course, with older machines divided into classes like 50cc, 350cc, 500cc, and sidecars. The event also features the Rockanje Klasse, contested over multiple heats, and a Demo Supermoto category. Motorcycle racing was a yearly highlight in Rockanje’s streets from the late fifties to the early seventies. The modern classic version was revived around the turn of the millennium, thanks to the efforts of Klaas Kars. The Stichting Historische Motorrace Rockanje now organizes the event, attracting local volunteers, sponsors, Dutch fans, and international visitors. The sidecar races are among the loudest and most physically demanding parts of the day. Recent editions have introduced small traditions, including the Rockanje Classic Races bandana and Big Shopper merchandise.
