Nerskogsrittet begins and ends at Granasjøen in Nerskogen, Rennebu, Norway, with Trollheimen nearby. The primary event is a 44 km cycling race covering 661 meters of elevation gain, primarily on gravel and tractor roads, with some asphalt and a brief trail section. An 18 km and a 54 km option are also available, offering multiple distances for the day.
The 44 km course follows Granasjøen to the aid station, then includes a 5 km ascent up Sørøyåsen before returning to asphalt and proceeding toward Skaret. Participants aged 11 to 14 follow an 18 km route, which is also used by the recreational class that does not compete for time. All participants share the initial 10 kilometers, allowing faster racers, younger riders, and untimed participants to ride together before the course diverges for the different distances.
