Offroad Finnmark

Offroad Finnmark is a July mountain bike race series held near Gågata by the Scandic in Alta, northern Norway. The program includes short youth races and long off-road distances: 70 km, 150 km, 300 km, and 700 km. Riders can compete solo, in teams, or in mixed-gender categories. The youth races are for age groups 13-14 through 17-19. A children's race, the FEFO OF Barneritt, is also part of the week, ensuring it caters to more than just ultra-distance riders. The longer races begin and end in the pedestrian street by the Scandic, with Alta serving as a checkpoint on several routes. The 150 km solo race has a finisher time limit. The 700 km event is a multi-day effort, with the winning team or solo rider expected back later in the week. Each distance has its own rider meeting and registration at the Scandic, giving the series a staged rhythm. Following the 150 km and youth races, participants attend a breakfast banquet and prize giving. The program also features lassokasting, or lasso throwing.
