The Ōrewa Half Marathon begins and ends at Ōrewa Reserve, adjacent to the Surf Lifesaving Club and Ōrewa Beach in Auckland, New Zealand. This event is part of the Run21 Series of Coastal Half Marathons, featuring a 21.1 km half marathon, a 10 km run, and a 5 km fun run. All three distances welcome both runners and walkers, creating a more diverse field than typical road races.
The half marathon employs staggered starts, with distinct waves for walkers, run-walk participants, and faster runners. The 10 km and 5 km events commence later in the morning. Course maps are available for each distance, and participants must familiarize themselves with the route, potential hazards, and event regulations prior to the start. Prizes are awarded to the fastest male and female in each distance, with additional half marathon awards for the top three men and women in the Open 16+ and Veteran 40+ age categories.
