The Baran Trail Race 60 km begins at 05:00 in Węgierska Górka, Poland, before sunrise. This primary long-distance event is a solo mountain trail race covering approximately 59.7 km, featuring 2,430 meters of elevation gain and an equal amount of descent. It offers a full day in the mountains, distinct from a flat ultramarathon. Participants have 10 hours to complete the course, supported by three aid stations.
The race is part of the National League and awards ITRA Mountain Level 4 points, reflecting the significant climbing involved for the distance. Essential gear includes practical mountain-running equipment: emergency foil, a headlamp, a personal cup, water bottle or bladder, bandages and sterile dressing, a charged phone, a jacket, a visible race number, and a running pack or vest. Poles, cash, and additional food are advised. The entry fee covers timing, medical support, course marking, refreshments during and after the run, and baggage drop services at the race office.
