Junior Gdańsk features short 200-metre races for children aged one and up, progressing to 500 metres and 1000 metres for older kids. This children's running series in Gdańsk takes place during Garmin race events, including the Garmin Półmaraton Gdańsk and Garmin Ultra Race Gdańsk, integrating the junior races into a larger race-day schedule. The race distances are categorized by age: 200 metres for the youngest participants, 500 metres for those aged eight to eleven, and 1000 metres for participants aged twelve to fifteen. One course begins and concludes at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk, offering distinct starts for girls and boys in each age category. An alternative route utilizes ul. Kościerska 7, located near the Institute of Hydro-Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The organizers, Akademicki Związek Sportowy and LABOSPORT Polska, aim to encourage physical activity among children and teenagers and to involve local families in Gdańsk's running community.
