Atlantic Run 2026

Atlantic Run is a 15 km beach race run entirely on sand from Praia da Comporta to Praia Tróia-Mar, on Portugal’s Atlantic coast in Grândola. The event is held in July, starts in the morning, and gives runners until midday to finish. It is open to runners aged 16 and over, with separate Senior and Veteran categories for men and women. The course follows the coast through a protected natural area, so the race is as much about handling soft sand as covering the distance. Individuals and teams both compete, with each team’s first three finishers counting toward its ranking. There are trophies and prize money for top runners, age-group awards, team trophies, technical shirts and medals for finishers, plus optional catamaran and bus transport to help runners manage the point-to-point route.
