Trail da Lomba starts and finishes at the Pé de Moura quay in Lomba, a riverside parish in Gondomar on the left bank of the Douro. It is a July trail-running event with 25 km and 11 km race options, plus a walking option for people who want the route without racing it. The event is on the Portuguese Trail Running Association calendar and also counts for the association’s District Trail Circuit.
The course is built around hard ground and constant changes underfoot: dirt tracks, loose stone, steep climbs, and elevation shifts that punish anyone who starts too fast. Shaded, damp stretches near water lines can reduce grip, while exposed sections dry out and feel firmer. It is regarded as one of Gondomar’s tougher trail races, and the 8th edition gives it enough history to feel established without losing its local, riverside character.
