Ultra Trail de Cerveira

Ultra Trail de Cerveira takes place in late June in Vila Nova de Cerveira, a town in Portugal's far north near the Viana do Castelo district. The event features two running races, 16 km and 31 km, along with a 10 km walking route, making it suitable for more than just ultra-distance runners. Both trail races are qualifiers for the UTMB Index, with the 31 km option being the most popular distance. The courses are single-loop routes crossing mountain, forest, and natural terrain surrounding Cerveira. The 31 km race includes 2,050 metres of elevation gain, and the 16 km race has 1,100 metres of climbing. These are short-to-mid-distance trails with significant vertical gain, not easy countryside runs. The 10 km walk allows non-runners to participate in the mountain-and-forest event without tackling the more demanding race distances.
