Philadelphia Marathon Weekend takes place over three days in November, focusing on the TIAA Philadelphia Marathon held in Philadelphia. The route guides runners past Philadelphia landmarks, through city neighborhoods, and along the city’s waterfronts. The Delaware Running Festival includes four races at Tubman Garrett Riverfront Park in Wilmington: a marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K. This spring event is designed for many types of runners, with the shorter races offering the same atmosphere as the marathon and half. The marathon route covers downtown Wilmington, the riverfront, and the Jack Markell Trail. It is noted as challenging yet Boston-qualifying, and the half marathon follows the initial 13 miles of the marathon course. The 10K and 5K take place on the same day, with post-race activities returning to the park.
