The 34th Hook O'Malley Firecracker Race honors Paul Hook O'Malley, a local boxing trainer who championed youth health. His philosophy was, "Straighten up and fly right!" This race, a "testament of the great love and devotion" from his family and friends, supports the American Cancer Society. A special award goes to the first overall Boxer.
