Cereal City Classic

The Cereal City Classic is a 10K and 5K race held at the YMCA Multi Sports Complex on Capital Avenue Northeast in Battle Creek, Michigan. The 10K begins early in the morning, followed shortly by the 5K. Both races follow a standard community-race format: in-person running, packet pickup at the YMCA, age-group awards, and a virtual option for those who prefer to run independently. The event focuses on local and practical aspects rather than extravagance. Awards are given to the top male and female finishers and the first and second place finishers in each age group, from children to seniors. Virtual participants receive a shirt and bib but are not eligible for awards. Entry fees are reduced before the late-registration period, younger runners receive a discount, and the race benefits emergency relief day camps, a weekly diaper drive, meal distribution, and blood-drive services.
