Chilly Cheeks 5K

Chilly Cheeks is a clothing-optional 5K run or walk at Star Ranch in McDade, Texas, approximately 30 minutes east of Austin. It is one of two yearly 5Ks at the nudist resort, held each fall alongside the spring Bare Buns Run. Both races qualify for the A.A.N.R. Southwest Nude Racing Series. The event is limited to 200 participants, all of whom must pre-register, and background checks are required for entry. The course begins with about 3K through woodlands and open pastures. It then transitions into the developed area of the ranch for the final 2K, crossing sand and gravel paths past cabins and cottages. The finish line is at the Star Ranch pool, followed by a light meal from the grill. Star Ranch has operated as a nudist resort in Central Texas since 1957, meaning the race is integrated into the resort’s established clothing-optional culture. Recent additions to race day have included karaoke, pickleball, Cornhole, complimentary individual photos, and a food truck.
